No Fun in Funeral

 

There is no fun in funeral 

Though “fun” begins the spelling 

How many words are like that?

There really is no telling 

 

There is no “sin” in singing

Nor will one “do” with don’t

“can” is hard to get with can’t

And you don’t get “won” from won’t

 

Not much “sea” in seaweed

The reverse, of course, is true

There is no “ear” in earwig

And blue blood isn’t “blue”

 

Nothing “big” about bigotry

Small-minded better said

If one is caught red-handed

Their hands aren’t really “red”

 

No “grace” in disgraceful

Nor “pomp” in pompous being

No “shy” in shylock either

No “agree” in disagreeing

 

There is no “trip” in tripod

Freedom is not “free”

For fun, lets break the pattern

Megalomania does start with “me”
